Little Jane

This is my precious baby Jane on Easter. She is waving to her daddy who is holding the camera. We love our sweet baby girl! Last week at her 15-month check-up, her pediatrician and I agreed that it was time to call the Early Intervention Program. In New York State, the Early Intervention Program is for children under the age of three whose parents or pediatricians have concerns about their development. The child is first referred and then evaluated for developmental delays. We went through this process with Josh when he was two years old. This led to his eventual diagnosis with autism. It's a wonderful program that is free of charge and absolutely vital to children getting the services they need early in life. Wonderful speech and special education teachers came to our house and made a huge difference in our family's life. Understandably, we are really worried about Jane right now. Siblings of children with autism have a 1 in 20 chance of having autism themselves. We have seen lots of encouraging signs from Jane but we want to play it safe. The reason for this post is a call for help. Many times we have seen remarkable things happen in Josh's life and in the lives of others through the prayers of family and friends. If you feel comfortable doing so, please remember Jane and our family in your prayers. We want to accept whatever God's will is in the matter and will need faith, courage and peace to do so. We love you all and are so grateful for all of your support.

You definitely have our prayers and faith. we adore Josh, and know he is such a special blessing to your family and all of us. We pray that Jane can be just as healthy and delightful as she is now, no matter what. please let us know what else we can do.
