Now I still have lots more pictures from Cancun, but we've been back to reality for two weeks now. And it's fall here...with winter rapidly approaching. I guess it can't be fun in the sun all the time and fall does have its charms. Look at this tree with gorgeous red leaves. I enhanced this photo using tools on Picasa. I used the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. It turned out pretty nice I think. I took this on Columbus day when the kids and I visited a local farm with some friends. When we arrived the smell of cider doughnuts was in the air and Josh's little friend started chanting, "doughnuts, doughnuts." All I could think was "Amen sister!" but first we had to work up an appetite.
We started on this homemade slide. As you can see Josh is delighted. I was overjoyed to see that the kids could slide into a pile of sand at the bottom. Well, not so much. But once I accepted the fact that baths were unavoidable and then went to a zen place, I had a great time.
After countless trips down the slide, we decided we should change things up a little bit. Josh got right to work on the major farm equipment. He amazed me when he walked right up to the machine and said "tractor." I hadn't taught him this word yet (sorry, John) so I assumed he picked it up at school. I later confirmed this and am so glad that he is learning new things in preschool.

Any chance you can bring your Cancun pictures and one of those cider donuts out with you at Christmas? I've never had a cider donut but they sound like heaven. I'm just on vacation at Heather's this week so give me a call if you get a chance.
We can forgive the Yankees hat because he looks so darn cute in it. And he is a New Yorker after all! That picture of the tree looks like it could be a painting. It's so beautiful there. Sometimes I wish we had seasons, but then I think I would like being able to feel my toes more. I still don't know what a cider doughnut is. Is that an East coast thing?
