Sweet Potato Pie

Here is Princess Jane sitting regally in her new throne. We decided not to wrestle with the massive beast of a high chair we purchased for Josh. Seriously, that thing is huge. With multiple height settings, a reclining seat, four wheels, and a five-point harness the thing is really more of a vehicle than a chair. When our friend Paul first saw it, he said, "You could push a kid down the street in this thing!" That put an image in my mind that still makes me smile today.
So Jane has entered the wonderful world of solid foods, a step I put off as long as possible. Spooning minute mouthfuls of truly awful-smelling substances into an impatiently waiting mouth, only to have at least a third of said substance come right back out, and then repeating this process over and over again for three meals a day, drives me absolutely nuts. I try to go to a Zen place but the legumy smell of peas keeps calling me back. Surely no Buddhist monk has had to face such a challenge...

...But then you see a face like this and instantly you're in love, willing to start the process all over again forever...after snapping a few quick pictures. (Enjoy the 70s era faux brick in the background and feel free to wish your house was as cool!)

That's one sweet little potato!

Jane has started squinting in preparation for the camera's flash.

Those are the cutest pictures of Jane! I agree about high chairs these days...they take up half the space in the kitchen. We miss you guys.
