My name is Megan and I'm and Addict.

I am addicted to Facebook. I can't help myself. I love Fish Wrangler. I love Eco Racer and Mafia Wars. I love playing Scrabble and Word Twist. I tell myself these games are exercising my brain. This helps me feel better especially because no other part of me is exercising as I sit at the computer. I do love seeing how old friends and new are doing. And the other night I was chatting with my brother and getting tips on Mafia Wars. Then my sister and I started chatting and playing a game of Scrabble. Now my Grandma is on Facebook. It's awesome! I love when technology helps me stay in touch with people, especially family members who seem like they are on the other side of the planet (The West Coast and Utah). Blogging falls in this category too and I just can't get enough. Even my father-in-law who is often in Russia checks in on the family blogs. (John you can make a comment any time you would like, even if it is off-the-wall.) Technology is full of pitfalls and dangers but there is so much good. And if good people use technology for good, I think we can eventually blot out the bad stuff. (Wow, that makes us sound like superheroes. Save the Internet. Save the World.) Who knows? Of course, I am left to ponder whether Mafia Wars falls into the "good" or "bad" category. I have not turned to a true life of crime but is a pseudo life of crime just a slippery slope? We'll see. If you hear me using words like "snitch," "capo," or "getaway car," just make sure I'm on Facebook. Otherwise you might need to report me. Just remember to enter Witness Protection if you do decide to go to the authorities.

In case you are wondering what my kids do while I am on Facebook, here is a sight that greeted me one day when I looked away from the computer. They are exercising their brains too. Notice how they have cleared the entire lower shelf of all the kids books. They are very efficient workers. Apparently you have to get all of the books out before you can read any of them. And the great thing is, when it's time to put them away, you can just pretend you have no idea what your mother is talking about. Just sit there and smile.

Well, Megan, I could have written your post myself (minus the adorable little kid part, of course). I feel the same way about technology helping me to get in touch and keep up with old friends (and children of old friends) are doing. I love it. I haven't gotten into the other games, but I too love Scramble and Word Twist. Yes, we definitely are exercising our brains; I take comfort in the fact they say it's good for old people to do puzzles and word games like these. I wouldn't say I'm exactly addicted to Facebook, and generally limit myself to what I consider to be a reasonable amount of time with it. But then again, maybe I'm just in denial?

Hey Megan, I found your blog on my mom's, too, and have been following it. I'm just lame and haven't commented yet. =) No, I don't do facebook...yet. My mom probably won't leave me alone until I sign up. In the meantime, if you want to email me, it's jetjmason@yahoo.com.
You're kids are SO CUTE! I love their little book collection. That game is all too familiar. Isn't it great! ;)

You know I thought I commented on your post but maybe I forgot to log in. Well lady I will be an addict to facebook one day - I am just to lazy to pull out the laptop. Unless of course I need to be warned of how close we are going into the red.

They are adorable and books are great right?

However, mommy deafness (as one kid doctor once called it) is quite common. :)
